Memory Door

This is a great way to memorize a list of more than twenty or thirty points. You can apply similar principles to any number things you might want to remember, and you use more you will get faster and faster.

Say you need to remember a grocery list, which could include: baked beans, butter, ham, milk, a wooden spoon, frozen peas, ice cream, pizza, apple, banana ...

The trick (and it is no secret - it has existed for centuries) is to think of a way through a building that you know really well - like your own home - or a journey that is very familiar to you. Then you link each part, feature or place to a bizarre visual image - the more absurd the better, as you know more easily. Since I do not know my way around your home or familiar route, you'll need support me and follow my example how I walk when I was in our village.

First I need to cross the road. To remember baked beans, I'll see a bridge, crazy unstable constructed entirely leaking cans of baked beans.

As I descend the bridge (for remember butter) I imagine sliding a large patch of butter Great viscous and having to spread my feet.

Then my journey takes me past my front door neighbor Frank, and I imagine that I must climb a huge pig that emerges from the door. This is the ham.

Attached to the grid (the following site), I visualize a charming cow wearing a cap. The cow is treated with milk of good nineteenth century, who sings eighteenth century picturesque milking song.

Just after the gate there are some brick steps leading to the house of Susan. I guess Susan and her family, Halfway down the stairs, struggling to mix a large Christmas pudding mix using a wooden spoon of ten feet.

Jim House is a large around his porch door, and I visualize a pea green giant trapped in the porch and Jim can not escape.

Then there is a place where there are no pavement (sidewalk) and Jim's car is usually parked so close to the wall it may be difficult to squeeze. This time, a van ice cream is parked there instead of the car. I have to go through the hatch, and I buy an ice cream cone with optional Flake, as I'm going.

The situation becomes difficult as I am painfully with skis through deep pan pizza, so I slowed right to down, especially as my sled Antarctica is snagging on the anchovies.

At the corner of the road, I am momentarily stunned as an apple falls on my head and I discover the laws of gravity, before sliding and slipping on a banana peel ... very long

So that's it. I could continue with a longer list, but the fact is that if I know the road I can connect each location with a ridiculous image of each item on my list: Bridge of baked beans, butter patch pig, cow, spoon huge, huge peas, ice cream van, deep pan pizza, apple, banana ...

And if I think of going in the other direction, I can easily recall the list in reverse order: banana, apple, pizza, ice cream, peas, spoon, milk, ham, butter, baked beans - effortlessly!
